As we move towards in-person instruction in Castro Valley Unified schools, our goal is to create a safe environment for our students and staff. CVUSD began testing staff in December 2020 and is now ready to begin testing students. At this point, COVID-19 testing is voluntary. Your participation in this process, however, will help prevent the direct threat of a COVID-19 spread throughout our schools and community.
Press Release: Castro Valley Unified School District Appoints Charity Hastings as Director of Purchasing & Warehouse
Castro Valley, CA – (January 28, 2021) – At last night’s board meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education unanimously appointed Mrs. Charity Hastings to the position of Director of Purchasing & Warehouse. Mrs. Hastings will be responsible for the oversight of the purchasing, distribution, and contractual procedures and practices of the District.

Yesterday afternoon, the Alameda County Public Health Department announced that we have officially entered the Red Tier after maintaining the required metrics according to the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy for a two-week period. This is exciting news for our community and students, as it allows us to move forward with plans to welcome students back to the classroom for in-person learning on Wednesday, March 17th.
