CVUSD Chromebook Required for CAASPP Testing
It is important that students have access to a CVUSD Chromebook for testing, and that they bring it to school fully charged (preferably along with their charger!).  Chromebooks regularly update when on and connected to the internet, but to be sure that students are running the latest version of Chrome, they can check by following these directions: [click here for tutorial].  We appreciate your help in ensuring students are rested and ready to do their best! Chromebooks should be updating automatically but many students never restart their Chromebooks so that doesn't always happen. To see how they can restart their chromebook, see this helpful video from Mr. O: https://youtu.be/CsEzc9lKSFw

Cell Phone/Unauthorized Electronic Devices Policy for Testing
We also want families to be aware that while our cell phone policy is always in effect for students to have their personal cell phones and communication devices put away during school hours, it is especially important during CAASPP testing as unauthorized electronic devices cannot be out or in use during testing in order to maintain test security. Thank you for your understanding!

Annual CAASPP Testing Notification for Families

Every year, California students take several statewide tests. When combined with other measures such as grades, class work, and teacher observations, these tests give families and teachers a more complete picture of their child’s learning. You can use the results to identify where your child is doing well and where they might need more support.  Your child may be taking one or more of the following California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC), and Physical Fitness Test assessments. Pursuant to California Education Code Section 60615, parents/guardians may annually submit to the school a written request to excuse their child from any or all of the CAASPP assessments. This exemption does not exist for the ELPAC or Physical Fitness Test.  For more information, please see the following notifications: [English] / [Spanish] / [Simplified Chinese] / [Traditional Chinese] / [Arabic] / [Tagalog] / [Russian] / [Vietnamese]
