Distance Learning Center
Canyon Middle School Distance Learning
Governor Newsom confirmed that California schools will remain closed through the end of the academic school year due to the need to continue social distancing efforts. This means that we will need to extend our suspension of in-school instruction and continue teaching and learning using our distance learning format until the end of the school year. The most effective way to slow and disrupt the transmission of this pandemic is by continuing to implement social distancing practices. We have the ability to communicate with staff and families virtually. Please check your emails and our website for updated information through the Shelter in place period.
Through Aeries student portal, teachers' websites and Google Classroom portals, students will have the ability to learn their teachers’ plans for distance learning and get digital materials. Most Canyon teachers will use their classroom website and Google Classroom to publish course content and assignments. Click here for links to teachers' emails and website addresses.
Please make sure that students are checking their school email addresses. They will need to be checking them daily. All electronic information will be shared using CVUSD student email addresses. Contact your teacher, counselor or school secretary if you or your student need support. Click here to connect to our Canyon Middle School Counselors.
We will not be able to assist students and families who do not have Wi-Fi at home. There are currently no Mi-Fi units available. However, in case you think your students need internet access, Comcast is offering 'Internet Essentials' package free for low-income customers for 60 days. You can also click here for additional CVUSD COVID-19 resources.
