Distance Learning Center
Canyon Middle School Distance Learning
California schools have been closed for in-person instruction since mid-March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. School closures to in-person instruction were part of a broader set of recommendations intended to reduce transmission of COVID-19. New evidence and data about COVID-19 transmission including variations by age, and the effectiveness of disease control and mitigation strategies continues to emerge regularly. Recommendation regarding in-person school reopening and closure should be based on the available evidence as well state and local disease trends. For more information please visit the COVID-19 Industry Guidance from the California Department of Public Health here.
Through Aeries student portal, teachers' websites and Google Classroom portals, students will have the ability to learn their teachers’ plans for distance learning and get digital materials. Most Canyon teachers will use their classroom website and Google Classroom to publish course content and assignments. Click here for links to teachers' emails and website addresses.
Please make sure that students are checking their school email addresses. They will need to be checking them daily. All electronic information will be shared using CVUSD student email addresses. Contact your teacher, counselor or school secretary if you or your student need support. Click here to connect to our Canyon Middle School Counselors.
We will not be able to assist students and families who do not have Wi-Fi at home. There are currently no Mi-Fi units available. However, in case you think your students need internet access, Comcast is offering 'Internet Essentials' package free for low-income customers for 60 days. You can also click here for additional CVUSD COVID-19 resources.
